Kenton Maschmeyer Withdraws from Harvest Cup Due to Personal Commitments

The Harvest Cup tournament committee announced today that competitor Kenton Maschmeyer has officially withdrawn from the 2025 Harvest Cup. Maschmeyer, a strong contender in the event, will be stepping away this year due to family commitments and professional obligations.

“Unfortunately, the timing just didn’t align for me this year,” Maschmeyer said in a brief statement. “The Harvest Cup is one of my favorite events on the schedule, and I always look forward to competing against such a strong field. I wish everyone the best of luck, and I’ll be following along closely.”

Maschmeyer’s absence will certainly be felt, as he has been known for his steady play and ability to rise to the occasion in pressure situations.

Tournament organizers expressed their full support and understanding of Maschmeyer’s decision. “Kenton has been a tremendous competitor and ambassador for our league” the committee said in a statement. “We completely respect his priorities and look forward to welcoming him back to the Harvest Cup in future years.”

While the Tournament Committee supported Maschmeyer’s decision, the PGL will be investigating him for “failing to meet signature events played in a single season.” Which could mean severe punishment for his OPGLR points and repossession of his cows.

PGL Commissioner said in a statement. “Kenton is a great player and great representative of our tour, but make no mistake this will not go unpunished.”

This comes on the heels of Clark Melenka’s withdrawal from the tournament just 4 short days ago. The PGL announced late last night that Clark’s OPGL Ranking would be slashed, his Duramax donated to charity, and he must shave his head bald.

With Maschmeyer out, the door opens wider for the rest of the 2025 Harvest Cup field as the competition continues across a slate of championship-caliber golf courses, culminating with the final round at Coal Creek Golf Course on August 23rd.
