Round 3 Recap – International Open 2026

Moving Day Madness: Round 3 Ignites the 2026 International Open in Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach delivered the drama — and then some — as Round 3 of the 2026 International Open lived up to every ounce of its “moving day” reputation. With leaderboard chaos, monster point totals, and emotions spilling across the fairways, Saturday may go down as one of the most electric rounds in tournament history.

And leading the charge? Dustin Andrychuk.

Dustin came out absolutely swinging, putting together a jaw-dropping round to collect 35 points — the most of the day — and launching himself all the way into a tie for first with Jon Woitas. It was the kind of performance that flips a tournament on its head. Every birdie felt louder, every putt more clutch, and by the time Dustin walked into the clubhouse, the entire field knew the championship just became a two-man showdown.

Not far behind the fireworks, Marc Herman quietly pieced together one of the best rounds of the tournament, stacking up 33 points — second most on the day — and surging up the leaderboard into 13th place. A massive climb when it mattered most.

Richard Woitas was right in the thick of the action too, collecting 31 points with a strong, confident showing that reminded everyone he’s far from done making noise this week.

Meanwhile, consistency ruled the middle of the pack as Kenton Maschmeyer and Mike Serna each posted 29 points, stringing together clutch holes and keeping themselves firmly in contention heading into the final round.

But all eyes were on Jon Woitas — and the pressure finally showed.

Jon collected 28 points, a solid number on most days, but by his standards it was underwhelming. With the Match Play event running alongside the Major championship, the mental toll was obvious. Locked in a battle with Jon Shapka, Woitas struggled down the stretch, missing opportunities he usually buries.

When asked about his round, a visibly frustrated Woitas admitted:
“I think I just gave this tournament away.”

Still, the Myrtle Beach crowd had his back — cheers echoing across the fairways as fans tried to will their leader back into rhythm.

Across from him, Jon Shapka thrived in the moment, collecting 29 points during the match and continuing his strong week of golf. Its also worth noting that fellow competitors said Shapka was spotted throwing multiple clubs today. The PGL will review the footage and may deliver a fine.

And quietly lurking in prime striking position is Alex Woitas.

Alex turned in another rock-solid round with 29 points, vaulting himself into 3rd place overall. With Dustin and Jon tied at the top — and potentially picking each other apart in the final round — Alex is perfectly positioned to finally break his infamous streak of major championship runner-ups. The door is wide open.

Further down the board, it was a grind for a few familiar names:

Brendin Serna, Clark Melenka, and Brian Bettac each collected 22 points. Brian, the 2024 International Open Champion, was spotted signing autographs and enjoying transfusions on the back nine

His agent summed it up perfectly:
“It’s not our weekend, but we still are having a great time down here.”

Classic Bettac energy.

Justin Lopushinsky posted 28 points, cruising the course while ripping heaters nonstop in the golf cart — a Myrtle Beach performance for the ages.

And Jan Bettac rounded out the day with 21 points, battling through a tough round as conditions tightened.

Final Round Incoming… and It’s Wide Open

With Dustin Andrychuk and Jon Woitas knotted at the top, Alex Woitas stalking in third, and momentum swinging wildly across the leaderboard, the 2026 International Open is set up for an all-time finish.

Now comes championship Sunday.
